so i finally got my first super jet, its a 1991 all stock motor wise and ski wise besides for a aluminum hand pole.
it runs okay, it likes to fall on its face for a second if u smack the throttle at low rpm. guy i got it from said hes owned it for around 6 years and has never tore into it never cleaned the carbs or anything just puts new gas in it and rides it so plan on tearing the carb apart. it also seems like theres a bit of nose coming from the pump area nothing crazy just sounds a little shay/rattly.

can some one make a list of things i should look at buying a ski from a random guy and not knowing wat its been thru.
do these things take jet pump fluid like the couches do ?
id there a grease fitting on the output shaft ?

thanks for any help you guys may have to offer

unless its been removed, there should be a grease fitting for the midshaft housing/bearings. bolted to the intake manifold. sounds like the carb needs cleaned and possibly adjusted if stalling when grabbing a handful

the noise could be the int shaft bearing. they can be pretty noisy. good luck and have fun.

ok i could be wrong but this came out of a small hub square and it has a grease fitting. the 92 i just bought has one also.....

i wouldn't be surprised if i was wrong but ive red a few different post about people asking about a grease fitting and people chiming in saying older sjs didn't have one. im not exact on wat year they stooped having sealed bearings so dont quote me 0n 90 to 93 but i have a bone stock 91 and theirs no grease fitting i think it might just be 90 to 91 . it wouldn't be a surprise if some one put a new mid shaft carrier with grease fitting on it when doing some work, its a 26 year old ski i wish mine was upgraded.

I know that my 92 didn't have a grease fitting but my 93 did. Perhaps that's when they started switching over? Also - What are most people using for the line ran from the mid pump to the actual "nipple" attached to the intake? I'm using just regular fuel line, but it keeps popping off the intake side when i put any grease to it.
