FINALLY got a Superjet!!!! Now I Have Exhaust question.

Hello everyone,

I finally got a Superjet. A 2000 model in great shape. Anyways of course it is going to get a transplant out of my Blaster. Im going to put my LPW B/B in it. But my question is, (and yes I did do a search and got some good ideas but not quite what I was looking for) Can I modify or heat my tank up and mold it to clear my B1 limited chamber, instead of having to bash it all up with a hammer. OUCH!! I called Factory Pipe and Cindy said they are six weeks out before any SJ limited chamber pipes would be available. I really would like to get this thing in there and ride it but...... I don't want to get rid of the blaster chamber as I will eventually put this SJ motor in the blaster and will then probably want to put a pipe back on it. Just trying to get some sort of idea here for a temporary time. And if this is even possible with as little effort and time, and with as little damage to the ski/pipe as possible.,:splatt: Any help with this would be great thanks to all.

Well thats kind of what I was thinking about. YEAH!!! definitely don't want any fumes in there, or I may be looking at your avatar in a whole different perspective. DYN-O-MITE!!!! Translation BBBBOOOOMMMMM!! LOL

Its actually pretty damn hard to get the tank hot enough to mold it without actually burning it. At first I thought I could heat it up with a heat gun, but I quickly found out that even though the outside of the tank is almost a liquid, the plastic on the inside was hardly warm. So I ended up burning the plastic and not being able to bend it.

What I found best was to fill the tank up with boiling water for about an hour. That got the plastic soft enough to bend it. The plastic will never get soft enough to bend it with little force. I had to dent my tank and hold it in that position with all of my weight (I was sitting on a piece of 3" PVC pipe smashing it into the tank) for 15 minutes while I poured the hot water out and sprayed some cool water in there. I was VERY surprised how tough that plastic is.

I had a crappy tank I was practicing all this on before I did it for real on my good tank. The side of the tank that points towards the motor is easiest area to mold. I was actually trying to mold my tank because my Riva Red pipe had rubbed a hole in my old tank. That side of the tank was quite a bit harder to mold, I only managed to distort it by a half inch or so.
