Bought a little honda go kart and the plastics are in rough shape. Hoping to strengthen it up with fiberglass or something . Is this possible any suggestions on glass and epoxy to use?

Also thinking about copying and replacing the plastics with fiberglass. Is it as simple as gel coating or wax paper over the plastic then putting wet fiberglass on top? :D

3:1 laminating resin. I like 1208 biax but that is probably too heavy for what you want to do. 2 layers of biax is going to be about 1/16" in a wet layup (you probably can not vacuum without warping the plastics). You might want to do a 6 or 10 oz cloth.

You will unlikely be happy with laying glass over the plastics. Reinforcing from the inside is a much better plan.

The right way to remake the plastics is to make a mold of each of them. To do that you need to prep them to ensure they have the finish you want, by painting / polishing / etc the plastics. Then wax and pva them, then gelcoat, then reinforcement. You should also build a flange. Then you have to repeat all of those steps to build the part, and if you are not going to vacuum it, then it's a waste of time compared to reinforcing the original plastics. Also the plastics have some negative angles which means you need to make 2+ part molds.
