Update

For the last few days I have been sandblasting parts at work with the sandblaster booth we just got. That thing is freakin awesome!
I literally sandblasted everything.
Cases, Cylinder, starter, Intake manifold, b-pipe manifold, bed plates, and my ride plate.

I painted everything with Full Gloss Black engine paint. it shows more flaws and goes on ALOT thicker than previous paints I have used but its mostly for corrosion protection.

Today I finished cleaning and prepping all surfaces of the entire motor. Tuesday i will assemble the bottom and and Friday I should have the motor completely together so I can move onto the little bit of body work I have to do at my fiberglass shop.

Ac Handlepole

This week I also picked up the -2 inch handle pole from AC Racing. They Had it sanded and painted black for me. I'm very excited to test this pole out!

Holy CRAAAAAAP!

Last time I talked to Wammer he said he was sending me a few of the parts i needed but I didn't expect him to send what he sent. I am going bonkers after what i just un-packaged after work today. opworm:


-Rick Roy Dual Breather lowered handle pole bracket
-The OEM pistons i needed from their brand new 08 engines they rebuild.
-A carbon B pipe Mod chamber
-A carbon Fiber lowered Nose piece.
-2 handhold lowered hood (just needs to paint before it goes out)
-The 33cc domes I need for the ADA Girdled head.

I am officially ready to ROCK!

Tomorrow I will assemble my engine then between the few early hours of the week before school and Saturdays(maybe Sundays) Will be working on the glass work I need to do and get my ski in the surf again!

I am blown away from Wammers support along with Paul, John, Gordon, and everyone else who have put their belief in my potential.

2-3 weeks, its all on me now all the parts are here.

Let the countdown begin...:cool2:

I was so stoked about all of it I ripped off my old handle pole Nose piece and bracket so i could see how it will look in the next few weeks.
I can't wait to get to work.

Bottom end coming together.

Today I assembled mostly all of the bottom end.

I ran into a few problems that slowed my progress.
-the extra Yamaha wrist pin bearings Gordon had were the wrong kind
-He was out of the flywheel cover gaskets (will arrive Friday)

Tomorrow I will clock out for an hour in the morning and assemble the top end for the sake of it getting done.

Top end together

Only had a few hours the other day due to a wedding I forgot I had to attend to, but I here's what i got done yesterday.

-New 2008 OEM pistons on board
-Slid my LPW ported cylinder on
-Assembled and torqued down my ADA head with 33cc domes.

Thats it until tomorrow when I plan to actually finish this motor so I can work on the ski!:headbang:

Motor Is DONE!

I was in the shop from 9am to 6pm today just jammin getting things cleaned up and bolted together.

With the help of Gordon we dialed in the timing(advancing it a little bit), Slapped on the lightened flywheel, goobered up every possible sealing surface that had to do with the flywheel/stator area with 1211, and put it all together.

I installed my Riva Reed spacer I bought from Hot products, along with stock reeds and my dual 44's.

I found a nice set of hardly used Carbon fiber 44mm Flame arrestors along with the manifold to bolt those on. That was cool to find, Gordon gave me a deal on em too.

After That It was a matter of cleaning up my B pipe manifold and bolting that onto the motor, and taking it home!

Now it is sitting 7ft from my computer chair on my dresser waiting to be dropped into my ski within the next 2 weeks.

I know this list doesn't seem like a whole days worth but a lot of little things took up time, finding lost hardware, stubborn bolts that wouldn't come off, missing parts and having to run around and find replacements.. fun stuff that happens right when you don't want it to.

This progress is great! Now its time to Jam on the glass work! :Banane19:

Today I spoke with my friend John who owns Performance Fiberglass and found out that now when I need to bring my ski in for glass work... He is going to Hawaii for 2 weeks.:ugh2:

With the mind set of putting it all off for 2 weeks. a quick talk over the phone with Chris (CKjetski) I got a quick verbal kick in the ass to get get over there and grab materials and get most of the work done myself.

So I went to the shop and came back with the following:
-A tub of Epoxy Resin
-A small tub of Slow hardener
-A rotisserie stand to work on my ski comfortably above the ground or not dangling sideways on a stand. :woot:
- Plenty of Fiberglass sheets for whatever I need to patch or lay up.
- mixing buckets/ Brushes
and
-some filler to make the epoxy puddy I made tonight to fill the lip of the hood seal I am about to reinforce.


I made out pretty well and will be pretty well set for the next 2 weeks. Im really thankful for John's support and trust with some of his materials and equipment while he is gone.

I will make a run to a local fiberglass supply shop to pick up a resin roller, Kevlar sheers, and other little things within the next few days.

tonight I set the ski up on the rotisserie, sanded one underside of the hood seal, mixed the epoxy puddy, and laid it all in to cure overnight so I can sand later and glass over.

Looking good!!!! Some glassing experience might be good for you.... Something tells me it will come in handy. I like your rotisserie:smoker:

I have glassing experience from all the times I worked on my ski at the shop. Just not without the assistance and supervision to make sure I was doing it right or laying things up in a clean way. I believe im ready to see what I can do... by just doing it:shrug:. Its fun though all i can do is make it heavier and stronger. The rotisserie is VERY helpful it will make working on the inside of the ski so much more comfortable and efficient.

I epoxied the other side today and sanded down the hood.

your gonna wanna put some reinforcement on under neath the handlepole bracket mount too...lowered brackets put more stress down on that area

Already reinforced there but I will be doing one more layer as I foam the upper cavities and seal the deal with one sheet to tie it all together. Thanks though

Got a few things done today

I had a few hours today so I did the following.
-Sanded the epoxied under hoodseal areas I puddied up the other days.
-Removed old Bilge brackets and all hardware inside of the hull.
-Cleaned the inside of the hull with acetone and then washed it out with a special degrease/cleaner I have.
-made the template for the bottom of my hull.
-Cut the template out onto my base layer of 1oz cloth

This weekend I will be doing ALOT of sanding and prepping to hopefully lay up all my necessary and not so necessary but cool looking reinforcements.

I should be receiving my materials Friday from US composites. arty:
