I ride lake michigan surf, so im trying to get my ski suited for my riding and my low budget

So, i have a pretty much stock 701 sn im modding. picked up a hull, this is what is has/is going to have soon

-reinfourced
-cut back -3
-lowered hood
-solid nose
-rockerd hull
-protec pipe
-xft footholds-
-pancake pete ffh
-roundnose pole
-rn pole bracket
-trim

im sure more will come...




If anyone has any suggestions on any other mods or things i may not need for this extremly low budget build hit me up, or any suggestions or tips id love to hear them!

so any tips, turfing, foothold installation, glass or whatever lets hear it!

If your on a tight budget I wouldn't worry about the dual carbs...your single 44 will work just fine (this is assuming you are runing 61x cases)

The right a/m impeller is good bang for the buck over stock.

i think im gona do some hull re-enfourcements... does anyone know what and were to get? any tips?

Engine bay: Grind down the ribs, fill bond line, glass entire side. That's a very basic run down. Do some searching, there's TONS of threads on reinforcing.

i just recently tore my acl mcl and meniscus and separated my shoulder so im going to have a lot more time on my hands, ill hopefully get this going and pics up very soon

whats the deal with the flame arrester? lol

haha well the guy who had it before me put a couch engine in it, so it still has that box on on the carb for the flame arrester on it, gona get it normal i just never changed it before lol

im going to ditch the nose piece and make it a solid nose, interal fill... im not sure if i should start from scratch and just use 2part foam and glass over or use my existing nose pice and modify that and glass it down and make it solid, any thoughts?

new plan, i have a lot more time now that im injured, so... solid nose - re enfource - hoodmod - rn pole - repaint - front foot hold

cut my rn pole 3 inches today, what are everyones opinions on filling the stock air intakes on the hood and replacing them with handhold shaded ones? pros and cons?

Fill the stock ones and cut new ones in the rear like a RN hood is what I'm doing to my sn.

So, its obvious that i have no idea where this thread is goin or where it will end up, haha.

a couple days ago i picked up this hull for $100. Its got all the stuff done to it, i will most likely have to redo it (and take all the turf off ahhh! the whole thing is turfed!?) the hull is in rough shape, im hoping that it is a good enough platform to build on and fix up, but we will see. Here are some pics of it when i got it home and started taking turf off-

as you can see the fiberglass work has taken a beating, but luckily i have friends that own a surfboard company!:Banane09: So lets see what happens!:bananalama:
