Factory wet pipe for SXR - The hit is kind of abrupt, any way to make it more linear?

Guys,
After many inquires and assurances that the Factory B wet pipe for my 2008 SXR would "add power everywhere" and not just be an "on/off switch" kind of powerband, I was a little disappointed to find it tending to be just that.
I installed it exactly per the instructions, (including rejetting the carbs), tried different settings with the water screws, but apparently there is no way to really ride the ski in the 30-40 mph range. You start off, accelerate, and then it just leaps to full speed from about 25 mph going straight to 52 mph, (or whatever "top speed" seems to be), not allowing you to ride anywhere in between those speeds.
Yeah, I suppose this is great for racing, and I admit it pulls really, really hard compared to the stock exhaust. But taking a longer distance ride now consists of going FULL SPEED and trying to hang on, or dropping down to 20 mph. In fact that's all it seems I'm able to do now. Go slow, SPEED UP and try to hang on, go slow, SPEED UP and try to hang on, etc.
I haven't tried it out in the suf yet, but I have a feeling this "all or nothing" throttle will make it hard to stay on and keep my balance.
Is this a normal complaint for this pipe?? If it is, no one told me that. Is there ANY way to make this pipe more linear, or did I turn it into a race only machine??

Thanks BK!

I think I started off that way and you're right in that it was a little better.

I'm still a bit disappointed in that everything happens in the first half throttle. In fact, from half throttle up to full throttle there is no difference because the ski is already going full speed. So in the end, it still becomes an off/on powerband good for racing but not for recreational riding.

No other mods to run in conjunction with the pipe to make it more linear??

The pipe is going to give it more hit, But you can tune it with the water screws. Honestly, When I had my SXR (Stock Class Racing setup), when I rode it, it was usually pegged or just about pegged anyhow. I rode this was for more endurance training and because with the SXR, you can ride it WOT!

That's funny as I found the same thing.

I think the hull is such an improvement over the old SXi that you could ride it stock, wide open and it tracked so well that it actually felt kind of slow. Now with the new pipe, you have to pay a lot more attention to the quicker acceleration and the higher top speed, (falling off at 46 mph is bad enought, but falling off at 55+ is kind of scary).

I'll take it out again and play with it some more. Worst case is I have to get in better shape to ride it!!! :)

Thanks man!!

Just play with it. Stock Spec I had a 50-51mph (only hit 51 once that I know of). With pipe you might get 52-53 out of it. As a full on limited I know TBM had a 55-56mph SXR but that was with everything you could think of added to it.

Thanks BK.

Yeah, I'm sure I'm off on those top speed estimates. Whatever the actual speeds are, it feels like about 4-5 more over the stock setup, but that is purely just a guess. It could be the fact that it now gets there so fast and with more punch that you certainly wouldn't want to fall off at the higher speed.
