Super Jet Factory Type 4 pipe running really hot

I picked up two SN's (one for parts and to eventually rebuild - other to ride) The one I am riding has the Riva Factory type 4 Dry pipe in it and the thing gets really hot, the jets are shooting out water that is close to boiling and when I pull the hood and let it run in place it just seems to hot to be normal. The head gets pretty warm too which of course worries me more than the pipe but either way I didn't know if this was just common with this pipe or cause for concern. (Side note: When just hooked up to a hose and not under a load it runs cool.)

Anybody have a diagram on how to rout the water on this pipe?

your water lines may be hooked up wrong. post pics

I found another page with Dual Cooling Diagrams and mine seems to be setup the same as the first diagram (With the Stinger Bpass- except I don't have the bypass valve, just straight lines.)
I have some pictures here that are a little hard to make out but basicalls the rear of the head drops to the bottom of the pipe. Front of the head goes out of the ski, and bottom of the pipe wraps all the way around and goes out of the ski as well. looks right to me bro, im betting the first couple of posters are right and you have a clog. Blow some compressed air through your system.

Thank you guys for your help I checked all the lines and they all seemed good so I brought it over to Leg Drag today and he knew before I even opened the hood somehow - Head Gasket Blown, I told him one of the release lines was chirping and sending out boiling water and he told me to start unbolting the pipe and get to the head. After taking everything off I ran home and grabbed the b-pipe and ADA head from my other SN that has a blown 701. I just finished putting everything back together and here are some of the pictures before the b-pipe is on.

That's one of the reasons I quit using type4 and type9 dry pipes. Makes the ski a pain in the ass to work on . I think they can also contribute to head gasket / o ring leaks because of being bolted to head. The pipe is trying to rip the head off when it vibrates.
I had one of the first type4 pipes made back in 99 . Picked up a type9 chamber in 03 and by 04 sold them off and went back to b pipes. Awesome power but not worth the hassle. In order to have the best low end you have to run ecwi That is a fact for type4 and type9 . Another major hassle


B pipe is even better now a days with 49mm hp / manifold bore . and the new TNT C4 chamber will out rev the type 4 with power everywhere.

I'm hoping the ADA head and B-pipe make solid power, I won't have much to compare to because I just bought the ski and it was overheating on the first run so I only have 20 minutes of ride time on the type 4. I have rode a few sj's with the bpipe and they all had serious power but they also had ported & polished motors.

Now I have 3 full exhaust systems in my garage now that I have to sell. The type 4 pipe, Riva Red Pipe and the stock exhaust(which I may keep for the other broke down ski I pulled the bpipe off of.)
