SX/SXi/SXi Pro factory pipe water getting in manifold

I just installed a factory pipe on my 750sx and when i run it out of water with a hose attached water gets in the manifold and in my crank case, can you not run a factory pipe out of water with out the inlet driping back into the manifold or might it be a gasket issue?

yeah that doesn't sound normal . I run my factory pipe setup out of water hooked up to a hose all the time without any problems. although I have at one point while working on a ski turned the hose on before it ran and it back filled my pipe into the engine through the exhausts ports .this was on a 650. how high is your hose pressure on could just be a thought ?

Sounds like an exhaust manifold gasket issue.

Did you bore the manifold? If so, did you not leave enough around the water jacket for enough gasket surface? Seen that where the bore is too big and off center, and not enough gasket surface left.

If such is the case, you can put JB weld in the jacket (very thin, you just want to close the jacket at the manifold, do not shove it way down into the cooling passages. Then you can sand it flat.
