Factory Pipe manifold carnage (repairable?)

I broke my manifold today while installing it. My dumba$$ tightened the outside bolts before the middle top bolts. That caused the middle bolts to act like the pivot on a seesaw and SNAP!

Can this be fixed with JB Weld? Having somebody weld it? Or do I have to buy another one?

OUCH it can be repaired but it's a tig process and you will want to glass bead it and get all the black crap out of there otherwise when you weld it it will pull the carbon out of that alum. and then it's pretty much junk.

I really don't want to buy a new one, but I will if I have to. I just want whatever works for the least amount of money. Would a machine shop be the place to take it?

If it can't be repaired, anybody got a used one for sale?

Would I have it welded to fix it? No, even to pay a welder to do it right is going to be expensive and you are still going to have a ********ty manifold. I think you could probably cake some jb weld on the back of the chuck, and press them together while it dries with something like a wise. I bet it would hold for a while... how long, who knows.....

i've heard stories where JB weld has held heavy, machine equipment together...even a cracked block.

send it to me I will fix it for you- but then you will forever be my bitch :afro:

seriously- I will take a shot at it. can't make it any worse can I? I was putting my motor together and the friggen helicoil pulled out of my freshly painted manifold and I ground it all out and welded it up drilled it-tapped it and good as new.

Not to mention I have also welded one for a certain someone a few times who can't seem to not port into the waterjacket.:twak:

Yep... send it to Tom; he does some great welding work. :popworm:

You'll never get another exhaust manifold any time soon from FP because they're on intergalactic backorder. :261:
