Factory pipe conversion ski

Put a 750 small pin dual carb in my flat deck sx650 this last summer. Have a 750 factory pipe lying around and can't seem to dig up if it will work in the 650 hull. Heard it wouldn't but not sure. Also have 750 fuel tank if that would be the clearance issue?

The 750 factory limited pipe will easily fit in a 650sx hull, not a x2 hull though . I rewelded my exhaust tube to go the opposite way to the waterbox then used a 2.5 gallon kart tank because the 650sx tank didn't fit, awesome power!0711141932.jpg

That's awesome news! Maybe 750 tank or even 550 tank be a good choice? Don't really want to drop down to kart tank size yet. Do a lot of river stream runs with point to point destinations. Getting back up over the dams would be hard to do for gas!

A 750 tank will most likely not fit, however a 550 tank will fit easily. You just have to block off the hole for the fill because there isn't any way to get a tube to the gas cap/ fuel filler.
I'd recommend getting a coffmans system and sticking that in there instead of the factory pipe. FPP not worth it IMO. With coffmans you get good power + more reliablity (No water screws and no dampners subject to breaking) and a lot less vibration. + the stock gas tank will fit!

I'm hoping to work with the factory cuz I have it collecting dust. Right now I'm running stock 650 pipe with pipe mod and an old thrust aluminum tail cone. Runs real good, better than a stock 750 pipe setup. I do have a bunch of 750 and 650 tanks that I could always melt a little for fitment

The 650 tank cannot be melted to fit because the pickups are in the way so you cannot move them. The 750 tank may also not fit because it is a lot longer so the waterbox will probably not be able to fit, since the 750sx has a rear waterbox. If you put a waterbox in the rear the 750 tank might be able to fit, but the battery tray may get in the way as well.
