Quick question, with the metal factory Kawasaki gaskets is it ok to put a light coating of grease on the mating surfaces?, this is on the stock exhaust and manifold to exhaust mating surfaces.

Another member here told me you could use the slightest bit of 1211 sealant

go with a little bit of 1211 and you will be fine

That black looking paint you see on those ss gaskets is a sealer, sort of works as a "gasket compound" when used on clean surfaces. Applying grease would defeat that purpose.

Permatex Utlra Copper works well with exhaust systems. It is made for high heat.
