300/440/550 Factory full pipe on js550

Hey guys I'm pretty new to this Jetski stuff, I got a 1992 js550 with what I think you guys would call a factory full pipe, meaning on the stock engine where it says jetpower 550, mine says factory pipe, then a coupling, then a black pipe with blue pink and purple paint splatter on it. My question is I keep seeing that a half pipe is better on a stock engine(I got 155 psi on both cylinders and a stock prop as far as I can tell), should I try and find a stock jetpower piece or is it really make that much difference? Either way I want to get some more bottom end power for freestyle/freeride, and suggestions would be great thanks.

that sounds like a "factory pipe" not to be confused with OEM.
your better off with the factory pipe and not the OEM clunker

Keep what yeah got...word of advice...don't spend any money on it. You are going to want to upgrade soon enough. Save your money to put towards a new ski. Anything you put into this you will not get back out of it.

Ya I realize it is aftermarket, just didn't know if the full pipe was as good on a stock engine as a half pipe.

I would like to get into a sj, but where I live up in Canada they are hard to come by, and when you do find one they are rediciusly overpriced.

Thanks

Good looking setup there. Appears to be a reed motor 91+ and you do have just the half pipe there. Everything back from the black flange is oem Kawasaki.
Ad yes that will work very nice on a stock setup I wouldn't bother with changing it back to stock.

those are halfpipes which are better for low and mid range power... the full pipes look totally different than the half pipes.. The pipe in the picture is a factory full pipe..IMG_20110926_192423.jpg
