Exhaust temp??

Does anyone know about how hot the exhaust gas is on a superjet, before being hit by water from the stinger?

I am just looking for a ball park estimate. To make things more simple, lets say we using a dry pipe, mild compression, pump gas. Any ideas?

150-200 degrees? can't be more than that i would imagine. if you put water on the chamber of a b-pipe it will slightly sizzle off or steam so it has to be at least 150. It's different in every part of the pipe, it's probably hotter at the head pipe than it is at the stinger.

Are you talking about inside the exhaust manifold as it leaves the cylinder? I've heard 1000f or even a few hundred degrees higher.

Let me start by saying I don't know.
Raw exhaust temps out the cyl are prob arround 300-350 deg. The manifold has the coldest water as it comes in from the outside, and then the head pipe cools it a little more. My estimate would be about 150-200 deg out of the headpipe, before the stinger.

I realize that the exhaust is hot but that seems really hot. On a p bipe the chamber is thin and seems like it would be similar in temp to the gases inside. It gets warm, but it seems like if the exhaust was 1,000 deg the chamber would be a lot hotter.
As I said before, I don't know, just the old educated guess.

Yep, I ran a Racepack 2 and used the same temp range..980-1050. Probes into the exhaust manifold,about 1" from the cylinder. It was really cool to dial in the high speed jets/needles on duals....until it turned into a high tide indicator. (filled with saltwater).

yeah i use egt as well
i shoot for 1050
and 25 degrees makes a difference as well
