My b-pipe chamber and headpipe seems to have a lot of carbon build up on the insides, should I clean this out? or is that a waste of time. ... I did run my pipe cooler this year than in the past.

Depends on your definition of excessive. According to Jan Thiel , a 2stroke engine with an expansion chamber that is de carbonized is more prone to detonation and will make less horsepower , than a motor with a dirty pipe.

Some 80grit sand paper and simple green will help get a-lot of it out. I doubt you will notice any difference unless you have a built race ski.
