Ex leaks are ANNOYING

NVJAY775

My home away from home.
RN SJ w/ factory B. Got my exp chamber leak fixed, but the inlet flange is still messed up. The connection where the exp chamber meets the part in front of it. At the rubber coupler. 3 bolts hold it to the exh manifold. (sorry for my ignorance) is where I am having the problem. Somebody previous to me had a leak there as well. JB weld or something like it was used to try to smooth the surface to get it to seal. The curved piece that bolts to the ex manifold (says factory b on it) is in great shape and seals fine. But the exp chamber itself is a bit out of round and has a semi bent flange. So... Should I try and straighten it myself and risk another leak by possibly breaking a weld in the flange, or what? Maybe just order a new exp chamber?

Thoughts please :/

Thanks again everyone

Jay

Do you have good threads in the exhaust manifold and are able to torque the headpipe bolts to 40 ft-lbs?
Use 1211 3 Bond sealer on the 3 bolt threads and gasket.
As long as you have a good coupler boot/clamps a little out of round is O.K. on the chamber.
