Enough Fuel?

I've read the tech-faqs and don't see an answer.

I'm having a carb tuning issue. Just installed a B-pipe and an MSD enhancer.

The low speed seems good. braps nicely from idle.

The high speed is my problem. Re-jetted stock mikuni 38's with 75 pilots and 135 mains.

I'm out over 3 turns on the highs, but when I check the plugs after a wide-open cut off, they are clean as a whistle. No charcoal color, not white, but clean as if they were bead blasted. (I've always been told that a tan/brown/charcoal color is optimum.White lean, black oily-rich)

Could this be caused by the pipe tuning? The top and middle water jets are closed and the bottom is open about 1 turn.

I had no problem when I did this to my wifes ski. (no enhancer). It took about 30 minutes and it's been good ever since.

Thanx in advance for any input!
Dan

how much time you have on the plugs? Yes the b pipe settings can deff cause lean plugs,I have some questions regarding this ill start another thread over.anything over 2 turns out is doing nothing on the carb screws, youd be better off going to 137.5 or 140 mains.

I had put fresh plugs in that morning. At this point there's no more than a couple hrs on them.

I knew there was a point when more adjustment does nothing, but I didn't realize it was at 2 turns. I wasted a bunch of time going 1/8 turn per run!

I've had to run some older already baked plugs to get hem to read. I was mixing AV gas at the time and it burns so clean that the plugs were very hard to read in short runs.

The low speed gave a very nice read. went way rich at first then backed it down til it looked good.

Also, I forgot to mention that It's running about 20 degrees hotter than usual. (about 160) .....lean condition or pipe tuning?

I thought that freeride/freestyle setup on the b-pipe was top 2 screws closed and bottom open a 1/2?

The Fp paperwork says top 2 closed and bottom open 1 turn to start for low end power. Then a few pages forward it says 3/4 turn to start. I started at 3/4 and opened to 1 in an attempt to cool & richen. (fishing) And that bottom screw is a joyfull thing to adjust, lol.
