Super Jet Engine wont start can only hear starter motor

A few weeks ago i installed a new starter and a new start stop switch.
ski ran great first day out a few weeks ago.
summer finally arived i went to go fire it up saturday all that happens is the starter motor spins. engine is not seized i can turn drive shaft bye hand.
is there a spring or something in motor that engages the starter to spin crankcase.
need assistance asap

Double check that your battery is fully charged and your battery cable connection are all clean before pulling the cover.
The next step is to pull the front cover and flywheel. Take a peek inside and see what's going on.

It is most likely that you need a starter bendix. They look like this and go between the flywheel and the starter.

I am looking for 55 shipped for my used one.

Yes you can take the front cover off while the motor is in the ski. It just requires some flexibility.

That one on ebay is not OEM. The non-OEM ones are hit or miss.

i would buy from jetmaniac.

i bought one for my ski. and it looked great and has worked even better. it has never free spun or what youd say.
