So I've been toying with the idea of building some sort of data logging and display system to log and monitor engine temp, pipe temp, waterbox temp, max RPM, etc. I was wondering if anyone has ever looked at using a pressure sensor and high resolution data logging as a way of tuning an engine for freestyle? Obviously it is really had to measure performance differences beyond "seat of the pants" feel. If you could chart (at high resolution) the output pressure from the pump during a WOT hit and compare as you tune, would you be able to see a difference? perhaps you'd notice a higher max pressure or a quicker ramp up in pressure? It would be pretty easy to measure the pressure on any of the cooling lines from the pump. I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this and since I don't know anyone doing it I'd guess it probably doesn't make sense. just figured I'd ask....
thanks for any insight!
