650/X-2 engine rebuild

So my engine seized up when I went to take the ski out for the last time this year. Its been getting worse and worse all summer and finally went. I was planning on rebuilding and doing work this winter anyway. So at the moment I know I need my crank to be rebuilt, honed cylinders, piston and rings. I was thinking about sending it out to get the exhaust ported and then manifold matched, along with buying a new factory pipe. While i have it apart everything is getting a thorough cleaning and Im going to test all the electrical. Im already have a 44 mikuni with matching mani. What else do you think I should be doing while I have everything out? I was planning on putting in a bilge pump and getting rid of the fuel selector since its locked up anyway. My real question I guess is what engine builder should i be sending it too and what should I be asking them to do? I was thinking groupk just because ive been able to read what they do on their website. O, i was also going to get an AM head, hopefully run compression around 190.

Just trying to figure out my plans for this winter and I can get everything organized and figure out what parts and prices will be.

Also, i forgot to ask. Do you think this is the best option for power. Should i be trying to get a 750 instead? What i like about rebuilding the 650 is that it will be like having a brand new engine

A ported and well setup 750 rips in an X-2. I'm partial to Art Gomez @ BlackJack Performance. 949-331-8279
He builds some killer motors for reasonable prices.

ok, if i go with a ported 750 though is one 44 mikuni going to be enough, and then im going to need an exhaust, plus ill still need an impeller, and a few other odds and ends. I feel like the price is going to climb real quick.

Well, posted this on pwctoday as well, and that thread turned into three people yelling at each other so i guess ill just stay here. What will be the power gain if i send my engine out to have the exhaust ported? Is it even worth it or should i just rebuild it with some AM and modified parts.
