I am putting my motor inside the 750sx, there is about a 1/2" play with the driveshaft, I can move it forward and back. Is this correct?

With the motor in or out? If it's with the motor in something's up, there should be no play or minimal. With the motor out you can slide the shaft all the way out, so movement is normal.

mine is same way and i did take it off cool now i know what i gotta do to fix it thanks bro

Are you talking about the actual bedplate itself? If you are I never took that off. If thats the case then the previous owner must of. Either way I assembled it the way it was and pushed the driveshaft all the way in and tightened it. It seems quieter than when I disassembled it.

i will tell you how i fixed mine i changed the prop back to stock now no play ? dont ask me why
