My butchered carbs :tomato:
They use as much fuel as 44's....or maybe it's the operator :icon16:

LOL WAB. no offence but you butchered those! I guess I have a little bit of a steadier dremel hand from shaping dentures.

But you did feel an improvement after you did that? I did this to all my bn44 carbs and there wasnt near as much to remove, just a small support brige and I felt a large difference. And that was on an anemic piston port 550, so im sure Ill feel an even larger difference with duals on a 701. Especially since its such a large obstruction.

And why did you shave down the main venturi booster so much? I would never modify those to much unless I knew what I was doing. Screwing up the jet signal is very easy. Probably should have bored it from the inside out.

I did it about 2 years ago and it did make a difference.
A friend had his done by JSS so I gave it a shot. i did what JSS does....just not as pretty. :moon:

at least use a sanding drum!

I am just trying to figure out how to drill the tiny holes to make it annual discharge!

I dont know the term annual discharge... but from the gist of it Im assuming you mean the booster venturies down the length of the barrel arm? best bet is let a machine shop do that. Or at the very minimum have a killer drill press and lockdown clamp with some expensive bits.

Well I figured Im not gonna mess with an impeller until I finish getting to where I want with the motor first... So I bought a wetwolf cone (last in stock) and it should be here tommarow...

This should at least gimme some more bottom end pop.... I think.

Come up with a basic idea of your motor and buy a impeller....Are you going basic bolt on or wild?

What your doing is building a big engine for a car....and running 2 inch wide tires.

The stock impeller is HORRIBLE!!! It's hard to imagine but one of the best mods is the impeller.....it brings the machine to life

waste is correct.

its a hard pill to swallow, I know it took ALOT of convincing to make me beleive it was worth the $250 or whatever to get a good impeller.

if I had to buy one righ tnow, it would be the 12/17 skat, I think they are right around $225?

I got more beneifit from the bored nozzle than the stubby cone.
you can bore your own nozzle with a sanding drum and a steady hand.

It's the thought of buying something thats not increasing real power.....but when you feel your current power actually make it to the water its like BAM!

Your boat will have better handling/topspeed/bottom end punch/hook up in rough water.

hrmm perhaps I didnt clarify in the beginning or you didnt read... (no offence I forgot if i posted specs)

I already have a 62t/61x motor with triton head making 200psi, and a riva red pipe (waiting for b pipe) Dual 38's waiting to be bored (this weekend). I have a Riva toploader and a D cut Ocean Pro surf style Ride plate and Ocean pro Steering nozzle. I also have a skat (straight cut) impeller, I am unsure if its a 13-17 or a 14-19.

So no Im not building a large motor on 2" tires. More so Im trying to find out what gear ratio I should be running to optimize my 1/4 mile time. :09:

Edit: I also have already swapped out from the plastic one to the larger diameter metal nozzle (but forgot the exact opening measurement now) and ordered my trim setup today.

i run a ported b pipe 61x sj with a 13/17 solas concord and i like it a lot. plenty of top speed for me, and tons of bottem end.

The STOCK motor is two powerful for that prop.......You'll feal an increase form all your powermods...sure. But you's only be getting 1/2 or less of that power.

The impeller is night and day..even bigger diff on built motors

Boring your carbs is going to kill your low end throttle response, that is a mod for higher RPM and speed............ I have ridden ski's with very good porting with stock 38's that had more hit many motors with 44's,46's and even 48's.

But, to each his own.
