I got into standups in the early 2000s and at the time, this was the king, purpose built, custom, carbon fiber. When it recently came up for sale I seriously considered it but decided I didn't have the space and kicked myself for not grabbing it when I could. Long story short, it came back up for sale as a part out and I decided to grab it just to get my hands on it in real life and get a chance to see how it rides.
15 years ago, this was considered a purely flatwater freestyle hull, by today's standards it is definitely not that. It is long, has deep chines and little nose rocker. IMO it looks like a killer rec ski that should be able to turn decent, run out fast and get air along with the typical old school tricks (stabs, rolls, fountains, etc.).
This will be a budget build, rec ski focused, simple, low maintenace and a good alternative to a superjet for lake riding. It came out to right around 100 lbs with hood, rideplate and intake grate.
The hull is set up for a Kawaski pump and Polaris engine, I will be putting a stock Kawaski 140 in it with no trim and am still undecided on the engine setup but the intent is a basic 701/760. It had an RRP pole on it that looked terrible so I went with a Xmetal and just piecing together most of it from random bits I have kicking around in my garage.

I found a super clean pump and hit it with some epoxy paint, couldn't find any affordable radial blade impellers with a reasonable pitch used and didn't want to fork out the cash for new at the moment. I opted for a cheap NuJet, I've been curious about them for a while so I figured I would give it a shot. I'll keep my eyes out for an SXR impeller in the meantime.
I also grabbed a 62t 701 to put in it. I'll break it down and reseal and probably just throw a stock pipe on it to get it on the water.

Work has been busy and I've been distracted by other small projects but I finally did a few things.
Rebuilt the carbs and re-jetted, rebuilt the bulkhead bearing housing, fitted a pole spring and Blowsion steering, got rid of the janky hood strap and put on a ratchet setup and started fitting the pump assembly.
I have also started looking at engine alignment and I think I can just drill and tap the hull mount plates and make it work. Might need a coupler spacer.
Flip flopping on whether I port the engine or not.

Does anyone know how many of these were made? I was going to buy that ski complete as well but the seller did not want to deal with shipping. I am still thinking that I probably missed out.

I currently own an EME signature series hull as well with an EME 1000 Polaris based engine, and it is an awesome ski all around for the riding I do! Not really a freestyle hull by today's standards as it is basically a full length ski, but it handles very well and is way more stable at speed than my Superjet. I haven't yet got more than 3/4 rotation on my flatwater backflip attempts but more skilled riders of the era were able to get around on these hulls.

I finally got the engine mounts located. The 701 is much shorter than the Polaris and it resulted in the driveshaft being too short. Personally I think the engine should come back further but the battery box and engine mount pads in the hull didn't allow for that. Rather than glassing all new pads into the hull I resolved it at the couplers.
I had to get a 550 coupler (longer than a 750 or 800 coupler) that was threaded for the SXR driveshaft and add a spacer on the engine side.
Oddly enough, one of my engine mounts landed right on two holes in the hull plates that where drilled and tapped but glassed over. I didn't get that lucky on the other three, no idea why so I drilled and tapped those ones.

I can't imagine how people where flipping these hulls, being so long and having the heavy pig of a Polaris motor so far forward in the hull. Does anyone know who was building these for Eric?

Got it in the water for the first time this weekend. I have some bugs to work out but I put a couple tanks through it without major issue.
It's a nice riding hull, super stable, turns well and is really good at speed. Granted it's just a stock 701 but you can ride one handed at full speed.
I am not sure where I will go from here, the stock exhaust makes it a bit underwhelming and I'm not sure I like lake riding anymore.
