Here's a short video from last weekend off the back of a 40 Tiara. This hull is a blast to ride.

nice form 40 ft boats would be sick to fly off. Got good height...I'll second that the q8 is a blast to ride. I love mine just wish I had a big motor. Dinky kawi 850 in mine

it's a 1000cc polaris. Its capable of putting you into orbit.

We have a 800sxr setup Q8 and its probably the best all around setup I have ridden. Flat water flips and always starts.

Nice height Mike...What no one footer? I need to get more boat wakes like that with my Q8. ~Shmool :)

Sure it flips great.... but how is the overall ride? R u able to cruise a lake or chase down a boat with it...... No disrespect just wondering if it is able to chase a boat at speed...?

I dont have a problem chasing boats with it. It is a short hull so its not like riding a freighter to the bow of a boat. I also have been doing some more flatwater with this ski so I have my pole setup very very short. It helps me on flat but positions my weight a little too far forward when trying to cover some ground.

Overall it's an incredibly fun hull. I cant say enough about the ride. I will try and get some video of some recent flatwater flips but I feel like I keep getting higher and higher. The hull brings a lot more to the table than I do.......so I know the sky is the limit with tricks and such. Something I will add is that the hull is really really strong and rigid. I am a big guy and have had a history of cracking lots of stuff. Both my Q8's as well as my brothers have been bullet proof thus far. I'm surprised that more guys are not riding them.

I was fortunate enough to ride 2 Q8's this past weekend and I was very impressed. The one had a BB and the other was an SXR motor. I haven't ridden any other short hulls besides a stunt hull and also a B.O.B hull. It was easy to ride despite it's short length. It was predictable and stable for such a short hull which was nice. It is also nice because you don't get sprayed in the face with the v shape in the front. As mentioned above the hulls seemed to be solid.

I think one of the biggest complaints about the Q8 is that it doesn't accept many Yami parts as for must of us freestyle guys we have a lot of parts on the shelf that would become useless. Other than that I think it's a great boat. Like any other A/M it is $$$. Just my .02

What Yami parts in particular are you referring to because my Q8 is pretty much all Yami under the hood?

Motor Mounts, Throttle/Trim Cables, Pump, smaller gas tank...those are not cheap items.

I am not talking down the hull at all just comparing it to other A/M hulls. They all need to be tweaked or have different parts no matter what. After all it is an A/M boat.

I know you are not talking down the hull and never felt that you were. I simply asked so that I can better understand what parts in particular because I used all Yami parts on my Q8 with the exception of the pump. I have a 62T motor using OEM motor mounts, limited b-pipe, X-metal waterbox, 2-gallon Jaz fuel cell, Yami throttle cable, and much more in my Q8. The hull seems to be fully adaptable to just about any of the popular power plants, Kawi, Yami, and Polaris.

I stand corrected then. That's good to know and thanks for the info! I think the mounts I saw gave the motor a lower COG than Yamaha. The one thing I learned after riding those skis and then seeing Malone on his, I need a bigger bank account lol
