A good JetWorks gel battery or a high quality AGM should last long enough for most anyone. The new digital TL units use less current than the old analog systems. If you properly charge the battery with a smart charger designed for the battery you choose then you should be ok. Parasitic loads that completely discharge the battery will shorten its life. Batteries do not like to be run completely dead especially if they sit discharged for any length of time. The biggest problems with TL systems seem to be failures from bad connections or water intrusion due to poor setup techniques.

Another good idea would be getting two good batteries, keep them properly maintained and switch them in between the rides if needed. Even the analog TL should last you for at least a day.

odessy battery? or any gel cell?

I'd run a Jetworks KB35XC battery and I would stay the hell away from Odysseys. They are junk.

were is the cheapest place to get a t/l setup?
Give Randy at Watcon a call.

well igeuss now i wait and see if ai can find a used t/l system to use
I would strongly suggest you buy a new setup. It will be a headache to set up right as it is (since you've never done it before).
Getting a used system will really complicate things for you.

Total loss is the way to go to add big HP, But if you stay with charging system...TBM flywheel with a MSD Enhancer CDI works really well also, but limits the compression ratio due to the limited timing curve.
Stay away from stock modded CDI's
