electrical troubleshoot help

i thought my starter relay was going out. when i hit the button it just goes nnnnngngngnggngng nngnnngng ngngnng. i took apart the ebox and jumped the terminals with a screwdriver and i got nothing. whats the culprit!?

How does that go?

Is the starter spinning, but the engine isn't spinning? If so, then that's a bad bendix/idler gear.

I think the manual would tell you it was the bendix if there was such a description as '' ''nnnnngngngnggngng nngnnngng ngngnng.''

duh sorry IT is the relay, the relay is vibrating like my girls "back" massager
