Electrical Problem

Last week I had to put a new starter relay in my superjet. I reconnected the battery with the electrical box apart to make sure everything worked, the relay fell down and shorted against a head bolt. I put everything back together and brought it to the lake, I tried to start it, but it wouldn't go, there was no spark. Would shorting it have wrecked the relay, CDI, or coil?

take a screw driver and jump the post across the relay.. if it clicks its good

The man said there's no spark. To me that indicates it's turning over just fine.
Jerry, I am not sure what line is fused in the stock electrical box - but it's quite possible you blew that fuse when the relay shorted. Check it.

That's right....the start switch goes through the fuse as well. Never mind then. Make sure your coil is grounded properly.

Yup, unless it is wired wrong, it should not even crank if the fuse is blown. If it cranks but no spark then try a different CDI. I don't understand why the hot from the battery shorting against the head would blow the CDI because it derives its power from the stator. The MSD Enhancer uses battery voltage so I could see how it might be affected. They way I read the circuit, the fuse is for the start circuit that enables the relay when pressed and does not directly connect to the CDI for any reason.

I just had the same problem with the SJ. No spark when I pulled the plugs out. Swapped the coil, cdi, regulator from another ski. Still no spark. Turned out to be the start/stop switch. Cleaned the switch out, and haven't had a problem. You can also unplug the black white(I think) connector to see if it will start. That disables the kill switch.
