650/X-2 Electrical Problem with 650sx

Hi I have a 650sx, I just put a new starter and battery in it and when I try and start it it just clicks, the clicking is coming from the solenoid. I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be or if there is a way to test the solonoid. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

A quick test on the solenoid if you have the elect box open is to disconnect the yellow-red wire and touch it back to the battery post of the solenoid, this will engage the solenoid, be aware that a solenoid can click and still not make a connection across the two posts especially if its an aftermarket solenoid.
