Im trying to diagnose why my ski wont start. so lets go with what i have done. As far as electronics go it is all stock 61x materials

-Charged Battery (i put it on our load tester and it was perfect)
-S/S doesnt work i need a new one, so i tried to jump it with a screw driver on the posts. Turned over for a quick instance then nothing.
-removed the inline fuse
-tried to jump posts, nothing happened.

Jumping the posts should have the same affect as wiring the starter directly to the battery. The only components in play are the battery, cables and starter so at least it's a small list to check. :)

I'd start with checking cable connections, then check cables themselves, try again with known good battery, and lastly look at starter.

its the starter. there is a dead spot on the armature where the brushes ride. when its on the dead spot it wont crank. if you beat on it/ get it to turn, it will crank sometimes. its the starter. i've taken dead starters out, hooked them up to a battery and they worked . if tested again and again, they sometimes dont work. i've seen aftermarket starters fall apart inside and work intermitently until they no longer work.

That's funny I was just about to post my findings. And the snake master was right. So I will rebuild the starter and clean everything up. I also just saw that the crank seal was leaking so it looks like I got a bottom end rebuild coming this weekend
