they are quiet and don't pollute so hopefully they cant be outlawed....

although i'm sure the hippies will have some other type of complaint about them.

i bet the torque is great too.

From the Article:

Saiki gave CNET a tour of the 2009 Model Zero X motorcycle which uses a high-output lithium ion cell, which is said to be completely nontoxic and environmentally safe. In fact, Saiki says “you could literally eat the salt crystals in the battery pack if you wanted.” I suggest NOT doing that.

“This is the future of racing,” Saiki said.

When they are up to 70 mile range with a 6k price tag and good performance, then I'd think about one. 150lb bike sounds fun. No more jetting, shimming valves, changing oil, oiling filters, running out of gas, etc, etc. I'd rather be riding.

If they say it's Non Toxic and environmentally safe then Maybe it's the future of closed course and freestyle pwc also. Maybe even recreational PWC if we all have gas generators to keep on shore to charge the batteries every 30 minutes...

Lithium Ion batteries are pretty amazing. The Tesla roadster battery is essentially powered a bunch of laptop batteries. It's biggest issue is cooling which wouldn't be a problem in a stand up. Imagine being able to ride in areas that only allow electric powered boats. We would have so many riding spots to ourselves

We are still a long way out from being able to get the weight and power of a 2 stroke out of an eletric powered pwc. Hopefully with all this electric car stuff they are doing it will push it along though. your subs could be limitless, or at least as long as you can hold your breath. A sunk ski will be a non issue.
