Saiki gave CNET a tour of the 2009 Model Zero X motorcycle which uses a high-output lithium ion cell, which is said to be completely nontoxic and environmentally safe. In fact, Saiki says “you could literally eat the salt crystals in the battery pack if you wanted.” I suggest NOT doing that.
“This is the future of racing,” Saiki said.
When they are up to 70 mile range with a 6k price tag and good performance, then I'd think about one. 150lb bike sounds fun. No more jetting, shimming valves, changing oil, oiling filters, running out of gas, etc, etc. I'd rather be riding.
If they say it's Non Toxic and environmentally safe then Maybe it's the future of closed course and freestyle pwc also. Maybe even recreational PWC if we all have gas generators to keep on shore to charge the batteries every 30 minutes...
