I have yet to try this but there is a way you can use a tap to thread through the bushing. Then get a washer and bolt, thread it onto the tap which pulls the bushing out. I cant remember what size tap but just find one that only threads into the bushing.

I'll try square EZ out today:wiggle:
this site simply rocks

You better not use a tap or a easy out on the bushing in the pictures. IF you do you will ruin the hole. TO ME it looks like one side of your bushing is worn away, it looks gone. Its the side the bendix pushes against.
If you use a tap or easy out you will be removing metal from the aluminum case.

Get a small ball peen hammer and a small screwdriver or punch to knock the bushing over to the middle of the hole and grab it with a needle nose pliers.
Be sure to get all the brass out incase the very bottom breaks off in the hole.
Then order a new bushing from McMaster Carr.

thanks for all the replies !!!

Quickmick I was thinking the same way but others(with more expierence) recommended EZ out and thats what Ill try first, if that doesnt work then chisel and hammer will do the job.

Dont be confused with more posts as more expierence, thats ignorant.

Ill put my 25 years of machine shop and welding expierence up against anyone on this board but a small handfull.
I guess that machine shop and ac/dc miller in my shop behind my house is for looks.

OK Tap away.

mine was half broken like that too. i had to dremel it out and break it out in peices. the tap thing would have probly worked if i had a slide hammer, its just a tight press..

use a oem yamaha bushing. cheapest oem part you will ever buy!

D-Roc

I forgot!
i would also think that in this case a tap or easyout will wreck the cases and cause a problem when installing the new bushing. my bushing has looked like that for the past two seasons, i am still running it like that FYI.

The EZ out is going into the bushing, not the case.
If there isn't enough material to do that, then I would consider it a no-brainer to NOT use the EZ out.

Looking at those pictures, the EZ out won't work.

True dat! :bigok:

well, the EZ out didnt work at all because of to little of bushing left in the hole.
Qucik Mick way worked flawlessly:Banane25:

sharp chisel, hammer, needle pliers and 20 minutes later I ve got everything out, I thought that it was going to be a nightmare to take the bushing out
but it turned out quite easy job.
thanks again for all the advice.
This site is awesome.
