E box

i am building a 62t 61x from scratch. What i dont have yet is an ebox, stator and flywheel. Are there better years to get them from or are they basicaly all the same?

CDI performance do vary

6M6 CDI (650 models) 6500-6600 rpm limiter
61X CDI (701 94/95) 7050-7150 rpm limiter
62T CDI (701 96+) 7050-7150 rpm limiter

and it should be noted that you have to use complete stator/flywheels, meaning 6m6 stator with 6m6 flywheel, 61x with 61x, 62T with 62T

Cdi's connections vary however you can easily make adapters or adjust connectors.

Other than that I'd suggest you buy complete as you will spend more piecing it together unless you have time to wait for deals.

Yes. I believe one lead on the 61x is female and on 62T is male. That may be backwards but its similar to that and just as easy to fix. Instead of cutting mine up I just created a male/male adapter as I was borrowing the CDI.

Good luck

Do you need everything in the ebox too? I've got a couple different setups here I'll be selling soon.

1. 61x flywheel/stator and either a 6m6 cdi or 62t cdi with complete ebox with new starter relay and rectifier, good coil and wires. $150 for 6m6, $200 for 62t(higher rev limit).

2. 62t stator, lightened 62t flywheel, MSD enhancer CDI, good coil, starter relay, rectifier and it also had a OCD tidy bilge switch on it. $600

Lots of people run with an Enhancer, but it's just another upgrade, only worth it if you want a little more snap. I'm no expert on the subject as I put it in with a bunch of other modifications, but that's what I've heard. You used to be able to get them cheaper, but now they're pushing $300 with little available discounts.
