Dual cooling question

Im tapping my pump for dual cooling and using the stock bilge line as my second cooling line. Can I tap anywhere on the pump casing or do I have to fill in this hole and tap that? I would rather just tap the casing then jb weld up that hole.

Casing is too thin.....keep it simple.....jb weld brass elbow into that hole

Ended up threading the inside of the hole and putting a big bolt in it and then tapping the top of the bolt for the fitting. Will have plenty of clearance inside of the hull
