Before anyone says 'search', I did but found conflicting information.

Some say to tap the pump for 1/4npt while others say 1/8npt. What is it?

The head is 1/8npt last time I checked, correct? I probably should just standardize them all at 1/8npt.

Thanks again.

Before you tap the pump get the fitting for it.. There are different size threads for the fittings.. If you buy a fitting with the smaller threads just tap it for that one. Doesn't really matter what thread you use as long as it is tight when you are done.

I always match my tap up with the bolt or fitting before I drill or tap anything

you should be able to buy them at any hardware store or home depot.

I checked Home Depot and Lowes last night. They do not have a one piece style 90 degree barb. Home Depot and Lowes have fittings that would allow me to do it in two pieces (thread into each other), but then the overall length is about 3/4" longer vs. the one piece barb.

I searched every ACE hardware ,HD and Lowes and a few plumbing supply places here and could not find these fittings anywhere .
I got them from ADA for huge money when I ordered my head :banghead:

Yeah not all Ace Hardwares have the same products because they are privately owned which is AWESOME.:woot: :arms: :Banane01: :hail:

Since they are privately owned that means that most of the employees actually give a $hit about helping you unlike HD/Lowes where it's impossible to find anyone to help you and when you do find someone they don't know shiot.

I noticed it right away too. I walked in, "Hi, what can I help you find today?" I tell him (normally I just search for everything myself), he takes me there, bang, got the part, "Anything else I can help you with?" I was pretty amazed at how pleasant the visit was. I took a stroll around because I couldn't believe how much good stuff they had. Sure enough, I needed something else like two days later, and I found it at Ace.

I think my house, truck, and ski is built at my local ace hardware. I am in there so much that the cashier will say to me "take this guy back to the circuit breakers" for example that was saturday morning... LOL

I don't think there is anything I have ever looked for that wasn't at Ace I do buy stuff ar lower becasue it is cheaper but Ace has it if I need it... Plus they are only 1 mile away.

I have found the HD and Lowes employees to be helpful but it really boils down to who you talk to .If it's a newb then your screwed but if it's someone who's been working his department for years than your all set .

I don't think the difference in customer service is that great because everytime I walk into an HD or lowes about 5 people ask to help me and if they have it in the store they know where to find it .

On another note Mcmaster kicks azz and ships super fast

I am 100% in favor for ACE. We dpon't have a Home Depot here but at Lowes... you always get some college kid (I am on myself so I understand their motivation) that doesn't know crap! Or they turn and run trying to hide from you when they know you have a question. I used to wanedr stores a few years back looking for stuff myself. Now adays I ask because it is much faster. I will admit though, if you get a Lowes veteran, they usually know their poop.

Spoeaking of ACE, how bad would you like to have those little drawers that all the nuts and bolts are in? I think I built my old 650 SX from those aisles and drawers!
