Wanting to get fx-1 drive shaft out of old pump. Did a search and can not find out how to remove it? I have never done this before. Just a quick answer would help me out a lot. Thanks
remove the pump cone.
put a piece of plywood on the concrete.
jam splined end of shaft into plywood while holding pump.
shaft will come out from the back (cone end).
Put two 2x4's on the ground that will straddle the driveshaft but allow the pump to sit on them. Take a piece of a 2x4 and place it on the driveshaft end that is sticking up in the air. Beat on the 2x4 with a small sledge and it will knock the shaft out. I don't put bearings in the freezer when reinstalling.
I think I might have lost my driveshaft removal virginity by using the "beat long end on the ground" method!
I got it apart! Thanks a lot guys. Now the exposed bearing on the end, i just slide this into the new pump and that's it? O and a pic of the old pump vanes. Mint!
