Drilling hood latch on new WDK hood?

Any tips on drilling the hood for the latch on a new hood?
I figure I should strap it down but do you just eyball the latch position from there & drill?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

fit the hood with hoodhooks in place. use a ratcheting strap to pull the hood down and crush the seal. If your seal is new, pull it a bit tighter to make up for compression as it gets used.

Once you have everything fit and tighten down, dry fit the latch, and mark the drill locations.

I did like BK said. I hooked my front hooks in and pressed down on the rear hard. I had my latch mounted to the hull and I slipped the top piece in, pulled it up tightly and marked around it with a pencil. I drilled my holes a hair higher than what was actually marked. At first, it was too tight, so I slotted them down a hair, and it is super freeekin snug now!

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
do it like said above...

if you happen to not make it tight enough you can disassemble the latch unit and bend some pieces to make it good-and-tight....
