300/440/550 Drilling for Duel Cooling

You can’t really see it, but the fitting is really loose because the wall is so thin there are not many threads for it to hold. I would feel better if it were welded somehow. Probably have to grind it down too on the inside, because I don’t think you want it protruding into the pump. How do you guys get this to work?? The 550 pump does not have a thick piece of metal where it could be tapped OR did I just jack this one up?? Its on a 86 550 btw. Thanks

Those fittings are available in 1/4" npt as well so you could still rethread it for one of those. However, I think I'd just use some of this and call it a day:

i am using the stock bildge line so thats why its on the same side, but other than that, i might try the jb weld.
