Drain plug

So I have had an 07 for about a year now. I can not stand not having a drain plug and always having a haul full of water. Whats the consensus on drilling a hole and putting a plug on the left side?

I guess it would be the engine compartment not the actual haul sorry. I'm guessing they didn't come with a plug factory for strength reasons. I hate to drill a hole in it and put a plug but I also hate having water just lay in there.

you can get a good shammies or the sham wow thing and soak up whats left in there. you have a bilge pump? even with the factory pump just run around mid speed fairly flat for a few before putting it up and there shouldnt be much left if any

^^ I agree.

I have a drain plug and bilge and still have a little water sit in my hull after a ride and rinse so I use a wet vac to suck it all out.

i was going to suggest a wet vac, but i remembered someones hull or vac catching fire because of spilled fuel and they didn't know.

I have done the shammy thing but with water injection and a tach/hour meter there are a few wires that are kind of in the way. This is how I ended up breaking the wire on my tach. Doesn't sound like any one drills the hole so I guess I will just keep dealing with what I have.

It's been done. On my first Matrix hull, I had a 1" piece of PVC tubing installed from the engine bay out the rear of the ski with a Versiplug-R on it. It didn't drain as fast as a scupper or replace a good bilge pump setup but it was really good at keeping the hull pretty much empty between uses. Even still there was always a tiny bit left in the hull.
