Drain plug install question

I ordered the Yamaha drain plug assembly (F1S-U2280-02-00) for my '18 SJ as well as a replacement hood seal
For the install - does anyone know the proper location to drill - either a distance to center off the bottom chine or below the rub rail
I'd like it to be as low as possible to be effective and also minimize the 5200 from mistakes

Are you planning to run a small section of hose up through the bulkhead? or just so you can drain out where the foam is in the rear?

The ski sits on a lake lift that is angled fairly nose high so water flows to the stern
I was hoping i could pop these two plugs in (similar to the '21-23 SJs) and drain the engine bay once on the lift
Sounds like you are saying I am going to need a really long drill bit to make a passage for the water to find its way out the back. Is this the case on the exhaust side too?
