double trailer spruce up

Bought this trailer and fixed it up a little bit. So far I have removed the flames off the side, replaced the lights and wiring. cut down and reused the bunks that were on it. I had a bunch of left over u bolts from a previous project so i found some inexpensive brackets that worked with them to mount the bunks. picked up a cheap box from CL, and a gas rack from amazon. I wanted a functional trailer, and to keep it cheap as I could.

I still need too get new rubber on the three tires, and figure out what I am going to do to secure the skis. Is it alright to through bolt, eye bolts into the frame and use heavy duty endless loop ratchet straps for the bow and stern? Id prefer not to use the winch posts. Also considering painting the box black.

Don't drill holes in your frame for through bolts. I did this to my old trailer and it was where the corrosion started. I use U-bolts and brackets these days to avoid the problem altogether.

What is your objection to winch posts? If it's an issue with winch handle clearance I may have a solution for you...

Well the winch posts that came with the trailer don't fit the skis very well, I could make them work but they also do not fit on the trailer with the box and gas rack. I was hoping to use that stuff to keep my bed clear in the truck. I will play with the winch posts again and see if i can save space somehow.

Took a few min and got the winch posts to work. When I tried to move the bow stops down the first time they wouldn't go low enough. After looking at it for a second I noticed some reflectors were in the way. Knocked the corners off and they fit, just need a few new winch straps.

Nice looking trailer! That's a big storage box.

What kind of valves are those on the gas cans? They don't look like any I have seen before so I'm wondering if they are something I don't yet know about.

Thanks, and having a box now is awesome, got it on CL for like 50$. Are you talking about the red plastic part on top the can? If so they are the stroker industries triggers, they work great.
