no jet ski movie to date has anything on "Blue Highway" w/ herbie fletcher ripping pipeline in Hawaii... He rips it so hard on a 550... He even drops in on a 35ft wave and gets chased to the beach before getting swallowed up... Like I said... THE BADDEST VIDEO EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haha, I've been a lurker here for quite some time and this post finally pushed me over the edge and got me to register. So, hello to all!

I have an original VHS of this video sitting right in front of me. I used to love this thing to death back in the day when I had a pair of 440's. We would watch it over and over again! Not sure how well it will play (haven't watched in prob a decade) but I am able to get it into a digital format if need be.

Are you guys familiar with how torrents work? It seems to me like that may be the easiest way to distribute this thing. Any other ideas?? Youtube maybe???

See if Darin will let you put it on his site for people to download. I would LOVE a copy of it.:cheer:

Does anyone remember the video - JetWaves?

Scott Watkins and Phil Johnson of Jetpilot put the film together in 1993-94. If you like surf and squarenose Superjets, it's the one to watch.

I still have jetdreams and watch it every couple of years. I probably watched it 20 times back in 88. Saw blue hiway in 86 and have the jetwaves also.
I would love to get some of these on a hi quality DVD . Especially jet dreams

I'll convert it to dvd format (hopefully) tonight so I can see what type of file size we'll be dealing with.

Who is Darin and how do I get ahold of him? That sounds like a better idea than a torrent if he's willing to do it.

With how I know how to do it, it will end up being the same quality and aspect ratio as the my current VHS copy which is by no means high quality. There's bound to be a little whatever-the-heck-you-call-it-when-VHS-tapes-start-to-go-bad, but hopefully not too much.

I'm all ears if someone knows how to upconvert the thing to higher resolution or otherwise clean it up before I make it into a dvd format.

What do you guys want, youtube or dvd??

Youtube would be easier but you'd obviously need a computer and an internet connection to watch it not to mention it will be much lower quality.

Darin is superjett on here, he is the person that keeps this site going. Send him a pm he will most definately put it on his site so we can download it and put it on dvd ourselves. Much easier than you making them and sending them out. And youtube sucks, they will kill any quality you have on the video.

Well I got it converted and it looks great. I guess my copy was better than I thought. The hosting situation for the dvd version is still pending. I can't seem to get it small enough for youtube (<100meg). Windows movie maker is being a real b!tch as usual. Any ideas on something else I can use to lower the file size?

OOPS.... as I was saying I think it was filmed in Islamorada in the Florida Keys, I've just got back from a holiday there and was thinking about it while driving through. I've also got an even earlier video (I think) by Dave Gordan, does anyone remember that?
