Well the title pretty much says it all. I really want to put 0 degree bars on my SN. Do I need to buy a UMI turnplate for UMI bars to work, or will the bars slide in with my stock plate? Is the UMI plate a "quicksteer"?
Thanks!

Thanks, fellas. I will get to looking. One more question...do you know if anyone has made their own homemade quick steer? All you have to do is relocate the pivot point of where the steering cable connects to the plate. I was thinking there has got to be a simple way to do this instead of paying $70 to buy the parts from somebody...

I got this one from WDK for $25. It's standard length, but will take straight bars which take a little off your plate (3/4"?). And allows for the pin to be farther out, so you get quicker steering. Had it in 3 days.

Ahhhhhh...so you mod the connection down by the pump? I thought it was something you do to the connection up at the plate.

ghetto quick steer rocks!
not much to it, easy FREE mod!!!
dont forget to clearance the nozzle or it will hit the reduction nozzle at full lock.

you should do both at the nozzle and at the turnplate for maximum throw.
out on the turnplate, in on the nozzle.

jusr make sure when at full throw
you are not binding the cable
if it hits the nozzle, relieve that spot with a dremel and cutter tool
mine didnt bind- no relief needed :cheer:

disconnect the cable at the nozzle and turn it as far as it will go. look and see where it hits on the side of the reduction nozzle because it can get much more throw than the steering nozzle was designed for. grind out a notch. i used a 4" grinder wheel to remove the plastic.
be sure to do this or you will damage your steering cable.
you may not need to with the stock turnplate actually. but really you should get yourself a steering setup. stock sucks.
