Super Jet Do I really need trim?

Ok so here is the deal. My buddy made me a deal I couldn't refuse on a blowsion trim system for my super jet. I'm trying to decide if I should even install the kit on my ski because I may not even benefit from it. It would be installed on a stock length 08 superjet if I decide to use it. All I have for motor mods is an enhancer, b pipe, and milled head. I also have footholds. As far as riding goes this ski will see 50% flat water, 30% buoys, and 20% surf. I'm starting to have second thoughts when it comes to installing the trim. Will trim really help that much on a stock length hull? Do you really think it will be useful for my riding style? I just want to see what other people think. Im sure some of you have tried trim on a stock hull.

Short answer is no, skip the trim. I put trim on my ski (similar to yours), I never used it and now its cable is broken. It'll be a waste of money, and maintenance IMO. Trim is only good if your flatwater flipping. However: if you got it for a good deal- throw it on the shelf till you can really use it. Cheap and functional trim systems are hard to come by.

Install it upside down, so that it always has a neutral or slight up trim, and your trim lever makes it trim down to bury the nose and rail the buoy corners harder. Lighter nose in surf and flat, with more top speed on the course but strong handling in the corners.

Not sure that is a good idea, but it's an idea... lol.

Well I was told that the blowsion system was made by skat trak. I wouldn't doubt that it's close to their drop nozzle setup. Like its tempting to install because I've never used trim, but I don't see myself flatwater flipping ever so it's like what's the point. The only tempting thing is that the trim tube would be easy to install because my ski is apart.

If you ski is that cut up, put it in now or regret it later. It's no big deal to cap it off and a plugged properly installed trim line doesn't lower the value of a SJ.

I will be in bullhead wednesday the 23rd. Would you be available? I'd like to try a ski that has it. Trim just sounds like more problems in the future that's what I seem so unsure. It's just more moving parts and cables to break.

Install it if u are going to learn flips...I would have never learned to flip my RN off a 3 foot wave without it because when u are learning it's intimidating to go up a wave and go high and think about flopping and bad wrecks. It helps you do lower quick rotating flips.

It's fun, i think the long nozzle is the best part,it's impossible to pull under a load so you have to let off grab a handful of trim then get on the gas again and as soon as you do you loose about half of the throw,it helps to set you up for the jumps and yes you can flip it and make it work as a drop nozzle

Well I don't really see myself doing flat water flips. If I'm going to get upside down it will be in the surf. I think this is more of a hassle than I want. There will be a for sale thread coming soon.
