ok. The inline manifold does use a coupler and the carbs are mounted with the shafts end to end running front to back. The parallel design mounts the carbureters with the shafts parallel with each other and crossways in the hull connected with linkage.
Performance wise the inline mounting may experience some lean hesitation in extreme hard right hand turns pulling lots of g force. What happens is that the force of the turn momentarily pulls the fuel to the left side away from the throat and will cause the engine to hesitate.
I am using a set of Full Spectrum carbureters mounted inline. All I do is freeride and freestyle and have experienced absolutely no fuel delivery problems in my boat. All the freeride people I know are using the inline setup.
If you are racing and are VERY good you might consider the parallel manifold.
