Hi guys
Im thinking about buying some deutsch connectors (MSD / harley style) But what seems to be the original tool, is very expensive. I get that org often is better, but i might do a few connectors a year, so was thinking has anyone experience with the cheap crimper tools?

Do they do the job good enough?
And the connectors, are there some of them that are junk or are they around the same quality ?

I would rather use that cheap rotary crimp than a regular crimper.

My local Caterpillar dealer crimps for me, if you have one, take the mechanic some beer and he may help you out.

Now that speedy says that, I just remembered I crimped them slightly to hold them in place and then I also soldered them.

The thing is, that those deutsch connectors are not "standard" in Dk, i haven't seen any mechanic use them.
I think its better to crimp them, than solder - i thought about that, but figured to see if anyone had experience with the cheap deutsch crimper. After crimp i will give them som 3M Scotchkote, for those who don't know this stuff, check it out - its very nice http://www.3m.com/product/information/Scotchkote-Electrical-Coating.html
We use it offshore on all exposed connections.
Hink, when you say standard crimper, can you show me what you are talking about?
No one who has tried the cheap deutsch crimper tool? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-ECON...1243781537&pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&vxp=mtr

I just used a standard electrical crimping tool, similar to this one.
