Ya, in the winter its great riding around here. Perfect weather for it with tons of trails going everywhere(since its a desert).

Here are some pics of the sand hills behind my house. I call it "mini Glamis". It was nice and packed when i took these pics as it had been raining for a couple days. Makes for some nice traction. Normally its dry and deep sand! These hills are fun to climb.

Snow @ Havasu

Yesterday morning there was snow on all the mountains that surround Havasu. Ive only seen that twice before since Ive lived here for 8 years.

There was a lot of snow on them in the morning, but by the time i took these pics at 4 pm, most of it had melted. I wished I could of rode out there earlier to take some with all the snow, but oh well. Pretty cool anyways for here in the desert. Hope you enjoy the pics!

That is a fun bike to have for a dual sport. Here is a picture of friend with the same bike in the California high desert.I did the air box, intake, exhaust and carb rejet update. I'm not sure why anyone would ride that bike without doing those mods.I'm riding the KTM.

New pics update!!!

Hell ya riidethelip! KTMs are nice bikes for sure. Looks like you guys like to explore too. If your ever out this way, let me know!
When i get my next standup ready i would like to come to oceanside and ride surf this summer. Maybe you can show me the ropes around there.

I went out yesterday as it was 70 degrees in the afternoon! Total sun with mild winds, perfect with just pants/jerseey/boots, and of course a few beers... :beerchug:
Took off to the other end of the lake and over on the Cali side and took these pics. Hope you enjoy! i know i did!

If you ever have the chance to ride Cuddeback dry lake bed 12 miles north of kramer junction on the 395 this is a must see trail ride destination. The Husky memorial / monument is in the middle of nowhere. The old Husky is cemented into the ground and there are pictures and cool parts of cycles with people's names who were desert riders who have passed on and some funny sayings on them about how they loved the desert. Classic

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
Reviving the old thread again with some new pics for the year! Here are some I took yesterday. It was 65 degrees out and very windy, but still a great day to run around in the mountain desert areas. These pics are by Oatman, AZ. It is a old mining town that is still living with lots of tourists, burro's, and cowboys doing fake gun fights. When I went through the town I'll bet there were 2000 people on the streets. I could hardly get through!

I found a old mine shaft that was very long. I walked way in there till i got freaky..lol
Also took some pics of this big mining companies operation down in a valley.

Very cool thread. Mini glamis is hilarious and yes you are the man. Sweet trail riding in the winter and some of the best river riding in the world in the summer.

Lucky dog.

Time for a little revival of this thread again!

Adding some more pics to this thread. Took the trusty XR650R for a ride outside of town a few weeks ago and snapped a few.
Some pictures of a old abandoned hwy that runs for maybe 10 miles or so. I love to get on it and haul ass WFO, my bike will do 100mph+ but Ive only taken it up to 85-90mph. There are some scenery pics, and taking a break under interstate I-40. One pic I tried to catch a Semi driving by for kicks..haha The last pic is what I like to call the Havasu pyramid. Its a mountain that looks like a Egyptian Giza pyramid from a distance.

Adding a few more pics from the other day. It was super windy/dusty, but was warm out(65)... Only went down 3 times..Thanks Bud light!!! :D

Seriously I only wreck going slow in the thick sandy crap. There are so many variations of terrains, from deep sand to sharp pointy rocks that I have to keep more air in the tires than I would like or I will get a flat. Sucks riding many miles back on a flat.. Hope you enjoy the pics!

I've taken my truck on a handful of trails around Havasu. Lots of cool stuff.

Last time I was out there I explored around Havasu falls? I can't remember what it's called. It's by where the Havasu hwy meets the 40. I camped at that spot just down the road from the loves where you usually see the campers. I'd like to do some more exploring. It's nice to check out stuff that isn't in Vegas.

awesome pics...thx for sharing..every year I come down for world finals, I think I wanna bring a bike.....to explore the area....and always end up passing....well now I know who to hit up for trail knowledge ;0)
