i was thinking about replacing the reeds on the SJ

what do i need to do it?
are the reeds replaceable on the DF2's?
what gaskets would i need? just an intake?
who's got these parts?

:)
i have about 150 gallons or fuel through the set in there now
when is a good time to replace them?

Yes, they are replacable. You need two sets. You need carb gaskets and intake manifold gaskets (reed side and intake side)
Any of the aftermarket companies should have what you need.

I am not sure on lifetime of the reeds.
Pull them and check their condition. They shouldn't be frayed around the edges, and they should close tight.

i did find the reeds in the garage
let me get the part number
not sure if it's what i need, perhaps someone can tell me
i also found 2 carb gaskets, but not sure what they are for

i don't have intake or reed gaskets either

I forgot!
i have v-force1 that i bought used and have put two seasons on them myself and whatever riverrat did on them before me. they have no signs of needing replacing the last time i looked at them. basically i am saying don't replace if not broken. Like mattE said, look to make sure the tips are not frayed and that they seat tightly. if they have lost memory and are staying open a bit then go ahead and change them.

if they are broken you will notice difficult starting and fuel blow back out the carb once you get it running. my kawi frayed reeds every season, my yamaha i used a reed spacer to help prolong the reeds and it seems to pay off. a visual inspection is a good way to check but it will cost ya some gaskets, i like to wait until winter when i tear down the ski and give everything a once over, if you ride all year long then just do it in your designated down time and make it part of your preventative maintenance
