I want to get a better battery, maybe next season. I'm using a Wal-Mart one for now.

I don't know which battery is "the best" for jetskiing, but I assume Deka is a great brand?

I remember reading something about those Gel batteries, too.

About the only thing I know for sure about batteries is that they will always need replacing. The best batteries I have used to date were the Yuasa Maintenance free AGM(lasted over 8 yrs) and the Odyssey, (almost 5 seasons). My favourite still being the Yuasa. Nothing else lasted more than 1 season. I have 2 trickle chargers and 1 good 10Amp unit and mixed results with different charging practices.

I went cheap on my last mini batteries and while the battery seems to be holding out great, the corrosion on the terminals has done them in early. I'm more than happy with the smaller batteries so I'm going with Deka this time and will be sure to grease up the terminals right from the start.

always charge AGM batteries @ 10 amps (or more in some cases), this breaks up the sulphates better which prolongs battery life and provides more reserve power. Trickle charges just cause slow death. :dead1::dead1::dead1:

I was advised years ago to always use a trickle charger but after failing as many, if not more batteries i revisited my logic and when I upgraded to the Odyssey batteries for my TL setup I would hit each battery at 10 amps for 25 minutes and they both lasted like that for years. I forgot and left the charger on for an hour a few weeks ago and that was the end of the odyssey's and the start for the Deka's.

The Yuasa AGM Maintenance free lasted thru all of this and all the different charging methods that's why it still has my vote for the best battery on the market.

Batteries showed up today, 2 day delivery during christmas is pretty good in my book.

The Deka has a far superior terminal than any battery I have ever seen. It's a solid terminal so no more little tabs to worry about.
