deep water start

I am interested in the replies here, as I rode my x-2 for the first time last week-end. I was surprised at how steep the learning curve is... but not quite as bad as my first ride on a standup 20 yrs. ago This "sit-down" is as close to a stand up as you can get.( and still have a seat ) It feels much heavier than my FX-1 Deep water starts seemed like a tight wire walk.

rest your chest on the seat grab the sides to sink the back a little bit spread your legs (like your gonna have sexy time) for balance pull yourself forward so u can just reach the bars start it and squeeze the throttle and at the same time pull both your knees on the tray than stand at your own convienience. after a year or too youll be able to stand on the ski without it running and just start it and go.

Ya, I can mount that bitch from the rear all day long. What I'm looking for is how people side start. I've seen it done. Lay it over to one side or another and nail the throttle and come out of the water standing up.

Maybe you need to have more HP and less body weight than I currently have?

Use you other leg to help balance in the water.

Leaning it to one side while turning it other kind of "counterbalances" each other for you to get going. I think it would kind of be obvious that you would still need to gas it to plane and so you can mount fully. Oh, and you do straighten out before youre fully mounted usually.

There are several youtube videos you could look at. Wb1994 (maybe?) might have some on his account. I remember viewing some from a x2 guy on pwctoday..

Hopes this helps but I'm no x2 pro so hopefully I'm right and maybe some one could explain it better.

Size and power might be a factor, especially on an x2.Post what is done performance wise to your ski.And what do you weigh?

Tried over and over, thought maybe I was missing something. By the description, I'm doing it right. Just piss poor power to weight ratio.

Mostly stock 95 with wet foam and a 15.5 impeller, plus I weigh 225lbs. A lot going against me.

I tried both directions, but I didn't like the stock hood opening under water on the left, and I didn't like the carb below the water line on the right. Guess you need to make sure your bilge is fairly dry before rolling it that far right.

I'm going to mod and dry out my stock pipe. A guy on here is selling dual 44s for my SN 61x and if I get those, my 44mm Brapjack is going on the X2. Maybe a little bump in compression and a little more timing and I'll be enough to pull my ace out of the water for a side start.

when you get it right the ski will pull itself under you,not pull you up.the same as side starting any ski.

Now that you mention that, I'm sure I'm doing it wrong. I think I've been keeping my right leg too stiff and it just pushes the back under water. I'll try to bend my knee more and kinda start with my butt closer to the back of the ski and 'squat' behind it.

I've never been able to side start my step-dads stock 750sx either. I'll play with it this weekend.

Nice.
