Picked up a 3M decal removal wheel, this thing works great! I've got all the decals and most of the residue off of the hull on my '04 SJ, but it seems like the wheel is all gummed up now with decal residue. It says to use a "cheese grater style" thing to clean the wheel up??? I tried spinning it against a file but that didn't seem to help. The wheel just isn't removing the decals or residue that great anymore. Do I just need to spin it faster? Moving on to the painted section of the ski now...

mine never gummed up either. I would advise against spinning it faster, the faster it spins the more friction which leads to more heat. I would say try to use some sand paper to get it off or just leave it on there, and the next time you use it, maybe it will clean its self, and if not who cares as long as it works well still. Maybe try some rubbing alcohol or some other chemical, but be sure not to ruin the wheel.

mineral spirits would be a good product to remove the residue as well. I would get some plastic razor blades or a old credit card like Charlie said too.
